Weekend Food Journal 6/5-6/6

by Alison on June 7, 2010

Saturday was Ben’s birthday and I got him the original Star Wars Trilogy and of course we got to watch all three, even though it was the first nice day in FOREVER but birthday boy gets his wishes.  For dinner we went out to Spiros Greek Island and got the appetizer and main course samplers that are meant to be shared, and still have enough leftover for another full meal…  The appetizer is pita, feta, hummus, Tsatsiki, Baba Ganoush, and a fourth garlic potato one, YUM.  The dinner is 4 different kinds of meat with more Tsatsiki and pita.  It also comes with a salad.  We also saved some room for Baklava because it was Ben’s birthday, we already had a huge amount to take home and because it’s good!

Sunday I drove up to Woodinville to participate in the Walk It! Event that our WeightWatchers meeting did.  Two others and I decided to run a 10k while the others walked the 5k.  I was best by a miserable side stitch from about mile 1 on so I shorted my run to 5 miles, figuring if I had to walk all the way back people wouldn’t have to wait forever for me.  When I got home we had pancakes for brunch and Greek leftovers for dinner.

I love to cook but right now I’m just not feeling ANY desire to cook, UGH it drives me nuts, I KNOW that eating at home is healthier etc but I just don’t want to at the moment for some reason.

Happy Birthday to Ben!! Believe it or not, I’ve never been to a true Greek restaurant before – everything sounds delicious!

My grocery store just started selling tzatziki sauce – $2 for a 16 ounce tub!
