June 7 and 8th Food and Exercise Journal

Cross training BAH.  I want to love it, but I don’t.  40 minutes on the bike which was 13.5 miles and a fullbody bowflex workout (that part I like).  Ben’s work schedule was chaos for Monday so we got teriyaki since I had NO idea when he would get out and need to be picked up.  He ended up getting off at 7, 12 hour days YUCK.

Tuesday the sun came out!!! I think I actually prefer running in a light rain (emphasis on the light!!!)  It was hot, especially in the sun.  I need to check out the cedar river trail and see if it has more shade than soos creek trail.  My mother arrived today for 5 days so the eating out will begin in earnest, just in time to coincide with my cooking blues…  For dinner I made crab cakes with smarter tartar (Greek Yogurt, pickles, scallions, capers and a tiny bit of real mayo) tastes as good as the real thing with almost no fat.

12 hour day – that sucks! Luckily I haven’t had one of those in a long time!

Although one time my boss had a brief due in Federal court – this was the first day working with this woman and she didn’t finish it until 3:00 a.m., after which I had to make a zillion copies and bind them.

Went home at 4:30 a.m., only to have to get up at 7:00 to drive to Chicago to file them. THEN worked the whole day – the office manager came over to my desk at 4:30 p.m. and said “oh, I thought you went home, you didn’t have to work today!”

Love the smarter tartar sauce and crab cakes!! Have fun with your momma! I am going out tonight again with my step-son and his girlfriend, I am frantically looking at the menu to find something good to eat – can’t string too many 1000 calorie dinners together!

Yum, crab cakes!

Anyway, I really enjoy cross-training because it forces me to evenly train and diminish muscular imbalances. Plus, it gives me a chance to take a break from running and stop stressing my body out. Swimming has been great and cycling is amazing! KEEP AT IT 🙂

I know it’s good for me, it doesn’t change hating it… 😛 Cycling makes my ass sore (even on a recumbant with a nice seat) and the stupid bodybugg doesn’t pick it up which only makes me hate it more. Swimming is out as long as I live in Washington, indoor swimming makes me cry. So I do the cross training and I loathe every minute of it, but I do it… At least it’s only twice a week.
