June 28th Food and Exercise Journal

I walked 3 miles this morning on the treadmill and did 20 minutes on the bowflex.  My hips felt no worse at the end so tomorrow I plan to get a run in. As usual it was a hateful Monday full of domestic chores, and trying to rehabilitate the house after my husband being home for 3 days.  I stay on top of things until Friday then it all slides through the cracks and I have a big pile of stuff to do on Monday, UGH.

Turkey Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli

  • Breakfast – Berries, latte, nectarine
  • Lunch – Leftover Chicken, Mushroom and Zucchini Pilaf
  • Dinner – Turkey Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli, Berries with whipped Cream

Ugh! It’s like that at our house, too…except I NEVER catch up. I try and I sort of get things good to go on Monday, but then it’s a mad dash for my 3-day work week and then Friday everything explodes and continues to get worse and worse by Sunday with all three of us home. Some days it bugs me, others it doesn’t. It might depend on what time of the month it is, if you know what I mean. 😉

I feel like I’m perpetually playing catchup. In the end, I ended up getting a cleaning lady to help with some of the domestic chores. But I still feel behind. Oh well. Sending good vibes your way that the run goes well tomorrow.

I have a cleaning person once every 2 weeks to do the heavy cleaning but I usually have to clean for the cleaning person, ie tidy so they can actually clean 😛 We live in a world of stacks… on the tables, the floor, clutter everywhere.

Yeah we have to clean for the cleaning lady, too. So do my parents. I think it’s how it’s done. Grr but I HATE clutter – why is it so hard to get under control? No matter how much I minimize, there’s always a pile of something somewhere (looking at the pile of paper on my desk, the random pile of electronics on the coffee table – sure, I could put those wires away, but where?). Too much. I think I will ignore it for now and go eat breakfast. =) (And I wonder why it never gets put away!)
