June 27th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on June 27, 2010

Sunday, hmmmm.  I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays.  I love the kicking back, usually more relaxing than Saturdasy, I hate they signal the end of the weekend.  This was a lazy Sunday, we did go out to Brunch since we were cheated last weekend and I did have to go grocery shopping (I’m not sure how I ended up going on Sunday 2 weeks in a row but I really don’t like going on Sundays, all the produce is picked over and it interrupts an otherwise lovely day) but other than that we kicked back. We watched Dances with Wolves, why do I watch movies where animals die, they make me cry (yes, really).  I experimented in the kitchen for dinner and made a huge pot of a one pot pilaf meal with both brown rice and whole wheat orzo, it turned out really tasty and filling.  I had intended for it to be veggie but decided to add chicken for the husband rather than cook it on the side because all I had were a bunch of chicken tenders so cutting them up and putting them in the pot was easier than trying to cook them on their own.

So doing some research my hips probably hurt because I have switched to sleeping on my side and this is screwing with my spinal alignment as I sleep.  Given they will hurt anyways I plan to get some running in this week and see if they feel worse, better or the same.  If it’s better or the same I’ll stick with the running, I miss it, I’m crawling the walls without activity

Interesting that your sleep is causing your hip pain. 🙁

Brunch sounds awesome 🙂 Mmmm!

Love how your pilaf dish turned out! I didn’t even know there was a whole wheat orzo – I’ll have to check that out! 😀
