SUN GLORIOUS SUN!!!!

We got some sun late on Friday which was nice for the boat tour of Lake Washington, not too hot, but not wet either, PERFECT!  The sun continued it’s appearance on Saturday.  We took the dogs out for a nice long walk first thing in the morning.  We went to Dim Sum for lunch, my Mom was craving good Dim Sum, not much of it where she lives.  We then headed down to Federal Way to the Rhododendron Species Garden.  It is 22 acres at the Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters.  Somewhat ironic that this beautiful garden is sponsored by such disgusting environmental destroyers but at least they do something good.  The garden has thousands of species of rhodys and azaelas as well as a pretty cool Bonsai garden. We did quite a bit of walking and picked up some Rhododendrons to plant in my garden.  For Dinner we grilled.  My mother had Copper River Salmon (YUCK :P) I did have a bite and it didn’t make me vomit so that’s an improvement… Ben and I had grass fed natural hot dogs that were awesome, first hot dog I have had since I was a small child and it bore no resemblence to those I remember.  We finished out the day with a run to Cold Stone.

Sunday I took my mom to the airport then got in a 5 mile run which was followed very shortly after by a 4 mile walk with the dogs, where we got lost (AGAIN) there is something about that freaking loop, grrrrr.  Again we stood at the corner of 125th Ave SE, 125th Ave SE (at right angles to each other) and 126th Ave SE and loudly said WTF!!!! we had google maps on my iphone what a giant pile of poodoo, google maps SUCKS for walking, it doesn’t show any of the curves it is tiny and it updates slowly oh yea and it gets your position wrong.  So almost 2 hours later of much walking in circles we got home and made quick Pita Pizzas to stave off starvation (it was only supposed to be a one hour walk then lunch) and some raspberries because I could not wait the 8 minutes for the pizzas to cook…  For dinner we had leftover pasta and sauce and leftover grilled zucchini, hit the spot, but what really hit the spot was firing up our fire pit and making s’mores.  The sun was hiding a bit and it had cooled down alot but the weather forecast said nice weather would be hiding for a few days so we took advantage of the weather while we could.

5 mile run followed by a 4 mile walk? Awesome! I wish Lily could make it that far! The hot dog looks great — I’m all for the grass-fed, organic, nitrate-free dogs 🙂

Have a great week, Alison!
