Singing, I mean Running in the Rain…

So far I have managed to live in the Puget Sound area and avoid running in the rain, are you shocked yet?  The first 3 months I ran on a treadmill then I just got REALLY lucky, well today the luck ran out…  I went out for my run which I was sort of dreading, having noticed the drip, drip, drip, driving Ben to work.  BUT instead of dwelling on it I got out there and did it.  I KNEW that if I thought about it I would come up with an excuse or just make it worse than it was.  So I got to Soos Creek ready to go, I had on my rain jacket and hat and headed out, it wasn’t bad no real water from the sky so I decided to tie the jacket around my waist… About 2 minutes later the skies opened and sent forth a flood <sigh> of course they did.  So I got my jacket back on and yea, you guessed it, it stopped like 5 minutes later, that was Mother Nature looking down and laughing at me… I did 40 minutes then some speed intervals to finish up. It was a good run despite the rain, I guess I should really get used to this rain thing and running…

Garlic and Lemon Shrimp and Sautéed Spinach

I came home and made some steel cut oats in milk, OMG so decadent.  Then I decided to make it apple and cinnamon oatmeal so I chopped up some apples and added them, some walnuts, vanilla and cinnamon, as well as some chia seeds, it was awesome.  For lunch I ate leftover Sausage with Bulgar and Kale and an orange, the orange was a bit blah sort of dry and not all that exciting but hey it was fiber and a fruit so I finished it.  I had a snack of Greek yogurt in the afternoon.  We took the dogs for a walk which is becoming a bit of a nightmare Drake is suddenly getting bad on leash, not sure why or what to do about it but it makes walking him extremely unfun.  For dinner we had the leftover garlic shrimp and a side of sautéed spinach which was excellent.

Wow, Alison, you did get lucky with the rain! I’ve got to say, now that it’s warming up and there’s less rain, I’m loving it! I find that I love running in the sun. 🙂
