Garden Time

I never posted yesterday so I will post food logs for both today 🙂  I lost 2.6 this week which rocks, only down side is I lost a point 🙁 but that’s okay as I am thinking of following the simply filling technique for WeightWatchers, lean proteins, whole grains, veggies, fruit, 2 servings of healthy oils and a host of other things are “free” you only count your 35 weekly toward things like sauces, butter, sugar, fattier meats, adult beverages etc.  This week I plan to look at what I eat and see if this is viable for me.

Both Saturday and Sunday I spent a nice chunk of time in the garden, I finally got my blueberry bushes in which is good because they are blooming and I want them nice and settled to give my yummy berries in another 2 months.  I also planted corn, cleaned out some stuff that didn’t make our week of cold last week, still have a few things that are looking iffy 🙁 but mostly the garden is looking great.  I earned 3 activity points on Saturday digging deep ass holes, rocky soil sucks, I much prefer my raised beds.  The weather this weekend was glorious and we ate most of our meals outside, so nice!  I went running on Sunday morning a 50 minute run on the Soos Creek Trail, it was nice, not that many people around.  It’s funny I have noticed runners and cyclists seem much friendlier than walkers, who never seem to acknowledge me back, wonder why.  The run felt good and when I got home I made a quick breakfast then we took the dogs out for a walk and I caught my ankle and went down in a heap, I scraped my knee and both palms, my ankle feels mostly okay but I think it has just given up on swelling there is nothing left to swell from all the times I have hurt it…  We will see how it feels tomorrow.  For lunch I made chicken marsala and for dinner, falafel, it was supposed to be the other way around but I had forgotten to soak the chickpeas so I had to do it in the pressure cooker and they turned out great, not leathery, mushy or under done, much faster too!  Saturday we had nachos for lunch with light cheese and for dinner we went out to Thai which was awesome, I love Thai food.

The blueberries are outside the fence as is the corn, just no room for corn in the raised beds.  I can’t wait til we start getting to eat from the garden which could be soon given how the Swiss Chard seems to be growing, and I have been using herbs for a couple ofweeks.

Hooray for the loss – that’s great! I think I gained what you lost! I cannot have cashews in my house – every time I went through the kitchen I grabbed another handful!

Love spicy Thai food too – haven’t had it in a while though! Sorry about your ankle – hope if feels better.

Kudos on the garden too – we gave up years ago – the bunnies and deer ate all our produce before we did!

AWESOME loss! All the eats look wonderful, but I am a SUCKER for falafel! I love the stuff! Delicious!

And I’ve noticed the same — runners and bikers are MUCH more friendly than walkers. Hmmm.

Loving all the photos in this post – especially the falafel and the garden! And mega congrats on the loss. I’m not surprised with all this running you’ve been doing. I think runners and cyclists have a much more camaraderie than walkers… that little bit of extra exertion somehow brings people together.
