8 miles!

Today I ran 8 miles, yes, you read that right.  I need to find a less hilly place to do my long runs.  It was an okay run, my ankle was a bit sore for the first mile then I didn’t notice it.  At mile 7 my knees and hips were sore, just like the last time I upped my mileage.  The last half mile was will power, I wanted to walk but convinced myself that was silly with only 1/2 mile to go after running 7.5, so I ran and I finished.  I made my homemade sports drink which kept me hydrated and mostly gave me enough energy but I did have a GU around mile 6 that helped keep me going.  I came home and had an egg breakfast sandwich with mushrooms.  For dinner we had leftover Tuna noodle casserole.  Tomorrow is my weigh in we will see if the long run the day before tanks me, so far I’m down 2 for the week so we shall see.
