I started the day with another 5 mile run! I found a new trail for my runs, the Soos Creek Trail runs from Renton to Covington and one of the access points is about a mile away so I drove down and ran this mostly flat (there were some rolling very mini hills) trail. I went out 2.5 miles and turned around and came back. Mostly it felt pretty awesome, my knee and hip let me know they were there for the last mile but feel fine now. It was a gorgeous trail with view of Mt Rainier. I had to cross streets twice but there weren’t any cars around and other than those crossings I felt miles away from the city. When I started there weren’t many people out. I passed a few or was passed :p On the way back there were alot more people setting out from the same place I did, and why not it was a glorious sunny day here, my garden is loving it! The run felt good, I felt good, and I’m feeling good about my plans to walk/run a half marathon late May and run a half in late September. I stretched extra long and headed home.
For breakfast we had eggs in a hole with grapefruit and for lunch we had the leftover chickpea patties in pitas, pretty light lunch after our big breakfast. We headed out to do boring errands (like get Ben’s haircut <yawn>) and Ben talked me into going to Cold Stone, we shared and it was 8 points including the peanut butter, yum peanut butter. After we got home we took the dogs for a 1.5 mile walk and I iced my hip and knee just for giggles. For dinner I made Smokey BBQ Pork Quesadillas with Fresh Tomato Salsa YUM. Seriously tasty and I used light cheese instead of full fat, Ben didn’t notice 😉
