7 miles!

by Alison on April 30, 2010

You read that right.  I did indeed run seven miles today!  I woke up early, well the normal time but I didn’t have to drive Ben to work so I got to run early.  I headed to the Soos Creek Trail and ran three and a half miles south then headed back the way I came.  My knee was sore around mile four but it stopped after a bit.  When I finished my legs were like jelly.  It was a very full morning with the run, a breakfast of blueberry lemon pancakes, a pick up of grass fed beef and a dog walk.  All before lunch!  We went to Eat Local to pick up our Thundering Hooves Grass Fed Beef order.  Thundering Hooves is located in Walla Walla but they deliver all over the Puget Sound and Portland.  The prices are reasonable and it is so tasty and so much healthier for us.  Our pick up was in Burien at Eat Local.  Eat Local is a really cool business they make meals from local organic meat and produce.  You go in and pick up these prepared frozen meals.  Everything is packaged in either BPA free packaging or glass containers you put a container deposit down on.  They also had local wines, honey, cheese, milk, nuts and meat available for purchase.  I picked up a few meals to have as back ups for days I just can’t make myself cook, they are rare but a back up is nice, especially one that I am happy to eat.

For breakfast I made blueberry lemon pancakes, I added chia seeds and flax seeds for extra nutrition.  I also had a slice of bacon 🙂  For lunch we had an egg white quiche with a bit of habanero cheddar, OMG sooooo good.  I have never really liked pepper jack, it wasn’t really spicy so I thought what was the point, but the habanero cheddar had a nice burn going it was awesome.  We had this with a salad.  For dinner we had leftover Greek Cheeseburgers, sweet potato fries and more salad.
