Working out no matter what… March 22nd Food and Exercise Journal

I’m still struggling with day light savings time.  Getting up when it’s dark again kills me.  Having to do it in Winter is one thing but in Spring after you have gotten used to waking up when it is at least somewhat light out just sucks.  Honestly what is the point to daylight savings now? It’s stupid when it is over half the year, why not just announce to the world we are shifting our clocks to daylight savings as the new standard time and not screw around with time changes?  So waking up was sucky and that made me really unmotivated to work out.  For breakfast I had peanut butter banana toast and milk then I dragged my butt into the workout room and did 2 miles on the treadmill including running intervals, 5 miles on the bike and a full body workout on the bowflex.  Yes, it was worth doing, it’s always worth doing even when I think I really don’t want to I NEVER REGRET WORKING OUT.  I’m not sure where I first heard “You never regret the run you do, only the run you don’t” but it holds true for all workouts, even for me who really ultimately hates working out.  Yes, I hate it.  I hate the time, I hate the boredom (music and TV and the great outdoors only take you so far, they still get old over time.  BUT I love how working out makes me feel.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful.  I caught up on all the news from Fitbloggin’ people seem to have had a blast, I would love to make it next year.  For lunch I trotted out a spinach salad and yogurt and for a snack which I forgot to journal til now I had a bagel thin and laughing cow.  Ben and I took the dogs for a walk while dinner baked.  For Dinner I made a Four Cheese Baked Penne, which ended up being 6 cheese as I didn’t have straight mozarella this time and had to use a light cheese blend of mozarella, cheddar and monterey jack, still very tasty.  For a snack I had pudding and a weightwatchers bar thinking I still had 4 points left.  Ah the importance of journalling at the time!

We walk the dog all the time while dinner is baking! Why waste that time!? I agree about day light savings. I am sooo tired all the time now, I hate it!

The penne looks wonderful, can’t go wrong with all that cheese! : )
