One week off and the run was a STRUGGLE. March 16th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on March 17, 2010

Today I ran for the first time in one week and it about KILLED ME!  Well not really but it was brutal, much more brutal than I expected…

I started at my usual pace and about 2 minutes in decided I needed to slow down and 20 minutes later slowed down even more… UGH who knew one week could throw such a wrench in the works.  I am also sore, my hips and knees feel like they did 10 weeks ago, well okay not quite that bad but pretty damn sore, I soaked in the tub for 30 minutes before bed and took some advil and its a bit better but still sore.  BUT even with all of that I ran the full 3 miles I finished, I didn’t let myself quit.  So go me. I was also hungry, guess my body got used to less activity…

I had a doctor’s appointment, good old annual fun and my blood pressure was 120 over 70, not sure what good is anymore but it doesn’t sound bad… I’m waiting to hear on all the blood work, I loathe having blood drawn, on a serious level I loathe it and I could feel it going out of my body when they put each new vial on, I could actually feel the vacuum made me even less happy and kind of grossed out…

My weight seems to have stayed steady with 10 days of not having control of my meals and that feels awesome, it means I did make some good choices at least 🙂  We will see for sure on Saturday but my naked morning weigh in has me up 0.2…  Wednesday will not be a workout my hips really are killing me, just some nice walking…

Way to go with the running! I’m proud of you.

Must have been fun to go to the doctor and tell them how much you’ve lost, huh?

She was impressed by the weight loss, which is nice.

Good for you for not stopping! It’s hard when you’re out of the groove!!
