It seems that running takes up much of my blog these days, but I’m okay with that it is providing much of my scheduled activity and giving me new goals to work towards, after all I can always improve my times, right? Today I ran 3.5 miles. I did 3 miles outside and had planned to come in out of the rain and walk out the remainder on the treadmill but I got on and just kept running until I hit 3.5 miles, I’m pretty sure I have never run that much in my life. The first 3 included lots of hills, but I still felt okay at the end and knocked out that last half mile jogging. I felt good! It reaffirmed my plan to train for a 10k, still not sure what I’m thinking about half marathons… Doing couch to 5k was easy, just gradually increase the running, I didn’t find any 10k plans that were that easy, they all seemed to include tempo runs and long runs, so I’m just going with it, I found a plan I like (we’ll see if I still do in 8 weeks when I am running 8 miles on my long run UGH. But when I started couch to 5k I never thought I’d run 40 minutes at a time. I can’t remember what races my WeightWatcher’s buddy and I decided that we are doing but I know there is an 8k and a 10k in there. My plan is still a race a month so this will help me get there.
For breakfast before my run I had peanut butter and banana on a sandwich thin with a glass of milk. After my run and a hot shower I read some blog, well more blogs I read some after breakfast to allow time to digest 😛 For lunch I had a spinach salad and yogurt. I made a trip to REI today for a smaller handheld water bottle for my outdoor runs now that its actually warming up and it looks like I have some longer runs in my future. I also picked up 2 new shirts for my runs, must look stylish, right? Then I hit the grocery store, I really hate shopping but it has to be done <sigh> I tried to wait til dinner to eat but the hunger kept at me so I had a mini Larabar for a snack. Ben and I took the dogs for a walk in the rain, poor Luna looked like a drowned rat. For dinner I whipped up some leftovers and sides. We had the leftover Greek Inspired Cheeseburgers, much better the first time around with sweet potato fries and zucchini.
