Saturday is weigh in day and it was a glorious day here in Western Washington. I had yogurt and granola for breakfast at my meeting. The pantry was bare so I made breakfast for lunch as well as an apple with some nice hard strong cheese I picked up at whole foods a couple weeks ago it was really good. For dinner I made Corned Beef and Cabbage with Potatoes and Carrots in the pressure cooker. It did a fantastic job pretty quickly, everything was cooked perfectly and the broth was super tasty.
Some of my gardening supplies arrived including kits to convert traditional planters to self watering, these things rock! They are really awesome and will help with my deck herbs and salad garden so that they don’t dry out on hot days, yes, we get hot days in Western Washington with no rain 😛 I got the planters filled with potting soil and put some cloches on so that I can start some herbs out doors now. Gardening is hard work and having to go up and down a flight of stairs many times adds even more. I can’t wait until the second bed is in and I can get everything planted. The downside to vegetable gardening is you do all this hard work up front and have to wait and wait for the fruit of your labours <sigh> but I can’t wait!
