Monday, Back on Track March 15th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on March 16, 2010

Home sweet home, schedule sweet schedule!  Eating healthy, exercising regularly etc is just so much easier when my fridge, stove and time are my own.  I loved being down at my mother’s seeing her and all my sisters as well as niece and nephew but I’m happy to be home, with my doggies, my husband and my routine.

Although my portions were reasonable while in Santa Barbara the food in general had alot more fat and there were alot less fruits and veg around all the time.  We went out to eat Thursday, both meals, we had home made enchiladas (homemade down to the tortillas) for dinner on Friday, after getting sandwiches out for lunch.  On Saturday we cooked in for my mother’s big day but it was a celebration and not the lightest fare around, although not nearly as bad as it could have been.  Sunday was leftovers, so Monday rolled around and we had home cooked “diet” food, not that I cook diet food but it was smaller portions lighter fare etc.  We took the dogs for a walk.  At my mothers we travelled one day and I was sick, 2 days of exercise out, we walked the dogs one day, had a long walk and a hike on 2 others but nothing high intensity.  I walked her steep ass driveway just to get my heartrate up at one point 😛

So yesterday I cooked.  For lunch I just grabbed what was in the fridge when we got home from the airport but for dinner I made Feta-Chicken Pasta which is one of Ben’s favourites and I love it as well since it has so many strong flavours without a ton of calories.
