Traveling wipes me out! Add having the stomach flu and I’m delighted to be home and completely in control of my meals and exercise again.
Saturday was my mother’s 60th Birthday, the big day, the reason we went to Santa Barbara in the first place. It was good, we decorated the barn and made a spanish feast, with waaaaaaay too much food. The recipe said 6-8, we expected 12 so we doubled it. We could easily have fed 20 with leftovers… Unfortunately my mother got my pestilence and could only enjoy the party for a while before retiring to bed.
Sunday we just hung out and had a low key day with a hike in the valley for me and Ben, which was good. I am not sure why I brought my running stuff, they were never used. When I felt lousy the day we left I should have just left them behind, but oh well. Sunday was leftover Paella and carrot cake and enchiladas, mmmmmmm.
Monday we flew home, got some groceries, collected the dogs and tried to catch up on stuff.
