Week 8 of couch to 5k, almost there. February 21st Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on February 22, 2010

So today I began week 8 of couch to 5k.  The end is in sight as this is a 9 week program.  I ran 33 minutes without stopping!  I ran 2.6 miles without stopping and I probably should have just kept going but I am trying to stick with the program, well I also didn’t realise just how close I was to being able to finish.  The program was 38 minutes and I finished the 3.1 in 38 minutes 40 seconds.  I walked 2 minutes when I got to the cooldown but then decided to finish it out running and did the last 3 minutes jogging.  So now I have to decide if I want to try to jog the whole thing on Tuesday or not.  My next 5k race is this Sunday so I am worried about overdoing it BUT I am also wanting to know I can run the whole thing (well maybe I’ll skip the hill).

I had a banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter before my run then I made us eggs and toast for breakfast.  For lunch I pulled out one of Ben’s favourites, Chicken Souvlaki Sandwiches, pretty easy and very tasty.  BBQ Pork Quesadillas with fresh tomato salsa another really simple and tasty meal, sorry no pictures I thought I had already put a picture in, I’ll take onewhen we have them for leftovers.
