Wednesday Sadness. February 24th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on February 24, 2010

Today my mother’s dog Tiggy died 🙁  She had had a good long life (15 years) but still it was unexpected.  She had had two not so good days so my mother took her to the vet a few times today and they determined it was some sort of heart issue.  She passed away during an ultra sound.  I loved this dog, when I lived with my mother in grad school Tiggy slept with me most nights, she was the sweetest little Westie and I will miss her a ton.

For Breakfast I made an egg with toast and some mandarin oranges and milk.  I did 2 miles walking with hill intervals and some speed intervals and then did the bowflex for 40 minutes.  For lunch I poached some chicken breasts and added some chicken to my spinach salad.  My new composter arrived today and I put it together, now we just have to find the right spot for it that doesn’t have too much sun, it’s a pretty big unit and hopefully will be big enough for all our composting. For dinner we had the leftover Smoky BBQ Pork Quesadillas with tomato salsa and green beans

So sorry for your loss! We have no idea how old our dog is – we adopted him so maybe he’s around 12? He’s a black lab – he’s my first dog, so I am not sure how long labs last.

But your eats look good! 😀

I have a lab too, such good dogs. Losing mine will devastate me. Drake, my mutt got out and was missing for 2 days (jumped through a window after a feral cat) and I was a complete wreck.

The quesadilla turned out really tasty and got more spicy as leftovers yummy.
