Shred and couch to 5k=over 700 calories burned. February 9th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on February 9, 2010

Today I decided to do 30 day Shred on top of my couch to 5k workout.  Couch to 5k week 6 day 2.  I did 2.39 miles in the 33 minutes of the program and finished out my 3.1 miles in 41 minutes 48 seconds.  I ran 10, walked 3 then ran 15, interesting that my times are slower when I run the more, I think it’s because I still have to go slower when I run more, but that will change, and does it really matter how long it takes as long as I finish?  So after that workout I did 30 day shred for a total of 734, not bad for a workout 😛  I’m cleaning out the fridge so options were slim for lunch but it was tasty so it worked.  For dinner I made a Masa Harina Beef Casserole from Whole Grains, Every Day, Every Way and it didn’t turn out as it should have.  It tasted great but the topping didn’t set up as it should have.  I’m not sure why, I might not have cooked it til it was dry enough or I might have needed to leave it in the oven longer, so we’ll try it again and see from there.  It smelled great and it tasted great so it’s just a matter of consistency now.
