I ran 21 minutes. February 4th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on February 4, 2010

I finished couch to 5k weeek5 day 3 today and ran 21 minutes without stopping or walking!  The program called for 20 minutes but I pushed a bit furter 🙂 I then finished up the rest of the 3 miles with some walking and running.  So I finished 2.23 miles in the 31 minutes of the program and then rounded out the rest in 42 minutes.  It was good I had to push but I felt like I could do it.  My feet are a bit sore now.  It’s nice to prove to myself that I can do things I didn’t think that I could.  The last time I ran was before high school and today I ran over a mile and over 20 minutes without stopping or walking.  I have 2 more 5k runs I’m registered for and I’m thinking of doing a half marathon at the end of June.

For dinner I made a roast pork loin with parsley shallot sauce.  This is one of my fall back recipes that is pretty easy all said and done and super tasty, the kind of recipe you could serve for comapny, but it was just for me and Ben, leftovers galore.

Yummy! I love that you show pictures of your dinners. They always look so tasty!

And great job on the running. Very inspiring and impressive! I know you’ve probably already said it, but do you run on a treadmill or outside?

Treadmill mine has a 2% grade at its lowest which made my 5k feel a bit easier 😛
