February 5th Food and Exercise Journal

Ben and I took the dogs out for a walk, which ended up being 2 miles, happy doggies!  We started the day with scrambled eggs, english muffins, topped 2 ways and grapefruit.  We had lunch after we got back from the doggie walk.  I had Beef, Mushroom and Barley soup for lunch and then I worked on a list of behaviours that I want to reward, so far the working list is

  • Eat vegetarian once a week (2 once a week)
  • Try one new recipe a week (2 once a week)
  • Plan menus weekly (2 once a week)
  • Plan workouts for the week (3 once a week)
  • Eating all meals while sitting down (1 once a day)
  • Track everything I eat (1 once a day)
  • Blog daily (1 once a day)
  • Run 3x a week (3 each time)
  • Workout 3x a week in addition to running (3 each time)
  • Measure all portions (2 once a day)
  • Eating slowly and mindfully (2 once a day)
  • Do measurements and and Pictures each month (5 once a month)

I’m thinking of giving different values to things based on importance to me and difficulty as well as frequency of the activity.  So I see the possibility of approximately 76 points a week and about 315 a month.  Ben suggested equating points to a monetary value say 10 points to a dollar so approximately 30 dollars a month, so I could get smaller rewards more frequently or save for a larger reward, still thinking it through as it sounds like alot to maintain.

For dinner we had leftover chicken cacciatore and I made sesame broccoli in the pressure cooker it turned out pretty goo and it was fast, bonus.  Weigh in tomorrow hoping for another big number as I kept up the walking 10 minutes every 2 hours and came close to a 3k calorie burn most days according to my body bugg and almost 2 hours of activity most days as well.

Ate 23 of 25 points. Earned 2 activity points.

Breakfast(8) – Eggs (3), Whole Wheat English Muffin (2), Neufchâtel (1), Barney Butter (1.5), 1/2 grapefruit (0.5)

Lunch (5)–Beef, Mushroom and Barley Soup (4), 1/2 mango (1)

Dinner (9)–Chicken Cacciatore (5), Brown Rice (2), Sesame Broccoli (2)

Snack (1) – Kozy Shack low fat chocolate pudding

Running Weekly totals used 32 of 35 weekly points, earned 31 activity points
