February 10th Food and Exercise Journal

by Alison on February 10, 2010

I had a serious hard time motivating to workout today, well honestly a lot lately.  Takes me a couple of hours to motivate to do my workouts, I don’t really ever think I won’t do them but I don’t want to do them.  I wish I was one of those people who loved exercise.  I love how I feel after but I hate the time it takes and I hate getting started, and no the kind of exercise doesn’t matter, it just doesn’t inspire me until after.  Today for breakfast I had oatmeal, I love oatmeal.  I mixed steel cut oats with eggwhite while its cooking.  Then I add in chia seeds, greek yogurt, maple syrup and fruit, today the fruit was pomegranate seeds.  Tons of protein in the oatmeal with the greek yogurt and the eggwhite and all the filling power of oatmeal.  I did a video chat with my niece and nephew which was fun they were such little hams!  Then I finally motivated to do my workout.  I did 2 miles of hills for my walking workout, followed by level one of 30 day shred. I burned almost 500 calories.  For lunch I made a spinach salad with mandarin oranges, poached chicken, almonds, and home made balsamic vinagrette, very tasty.  For dinner we had leftovers, Quinoa with Roasted Red Pepper Dressing and pork chops.

I’m loving quinoa, BTW! I just picked up a huge bag at Costco…

And I’m so the same with exercise–don’t want to go; but then when I’m there, I’m okay with it; and when I’m done, I’m so glad I went!
