Loose Jeans, January 29th Food and Exercise Journal

Breakfast(5) –overnight oats, thick cut oats (2.5), non fat greek yogurt (1), milk (1), 1/2 tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 banana (the dogs love when they get the other half of the banana)

Lunch (5)–Cheese and Beer soup (5)

Dinner (9)–Leftover Indian, aloo gobi (2), Brown Rice (3), Shrimp and Squash Vindaloo (4)

Snack (1)–Yogurt

Feeling much better!  Sore throat is gone and most of the stuffyness is gone too.  I did my relaxed Friday workout, slower, shorter walk.  I do that on Friday and Saturday and push hard the rest of the week.  I do it the day before my weigh in so I am not retaining fluid in my muscles or anything that might show on the scale.  Although I know its not real weight it still annoys me.  I do it on Saturday because I lose so much of the day and don’t really have time to work out.  My Jeans are so much looser in the past week, like noticeably looser in one week!  Scale (at least at home) not showing that but who cares, my jeans are looser!

For breakfast I had overnight oats, mixed the oats, yogurt and milk together last night and let them sit in the fridge then this morning I added peanut butter and banana, it was very good and more filling that my normal oatmeal, not sure how that one works…  For lunch I made a Cheese and Beer soup, very simple and surprisingly low calorie given there was cheese in it, real cheese not low fat, granted a modest amount.  Still I used strong cheese and you could definitely taste it.  I sautéed the carrots, onions, celery in olive oil spray, then added chicken broth and potatoes, mustard powder and cayenne and let it simmer, then I used my immersion blender to purée it.  Finally added in a bottle of beer,  aged sharp cheddar and pecorino cheese.  Made 6 1 1/2 cup servings.  Dinner was leftover Indian and it was very good reheated.

Tomorrow after my weigh in Ben and I are going to Ursulmas, an SCA event so I have been running around trying to find garb that fits and covers tattoos as well, forgot my hair is much shorter than it used to be.  I’m looking forward to the event, there will be merchants, fighting and Arts and Sciences demos, it should be fun and I really hope that Ben has fun.
