I have a new weekly plan after reading how bad our sedentary lifestyles are for our health. I plan to walk the first 5 minutes of every hour that I’m not already active. By active I mean not just exercising but include housework (laundry, dishes, cooking), playing with the dogs etc. I figure if I can get up and get on the treadmill for 5 minutes out of the 60 that I’m sitting at the computer or watching TV or reading I can get in as much as an extra hour of activity a day, probably closer to 45 minutes most days. So I’m going to give this a go for a week and see what I think. I started today and got in 1.5 extra miles and 30 extra minutes and it is not quite 7 PM.
I made whole wheat banana pancakes for breakfast (thank you Roni) No added fat or sugar it all came from the banana and they were great. Come in at 60 calories each (1g fat, 2g fiber) and the recipe made 9, and these weren’t little silver dollar pancakes but nice sized ones. The rest of the day was about leftovers and cleaning out closets, we spent at least 3 hours going through crap that Ben has accumulated over who knows how long, now it is mostly organised I just need to get nice bins as opposed to the falling apart cardboard boxes he was using.
